E-waste

This work of art depicts African silhouette made out from homemade soap in opposition to the fact that E-waste (describes discarded electrical or electronic devices) is being sent to some developing counties such as Ghana in  Africa or India & China in  Asia to  reuse and repair those electronics devises, but once they arrive to destiny it is abandoned in landfills without control. Locals are manipulating this material to pull out copper and other materials to sell it afterwards.  The informal processing of electronic waste may cause serious health and pollution problems .

All electronic scrap components, such as CRTs, may contain contaminants such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, or brominated flame retardants. Even in developed countries recycling and disposal of e-waste may involve significant risk to workers and communities and great care must be taken to avoid unsafe exposure in recycling operations and leaking of materials such as heavy metals from landfills and incinerator ashes. Scrap industry and U.S. EPA officials agree that materials should be managed with caution.
